At 50 I could no longer keep up the 14 hour days of my youth. I was producing 6 editions of stone lithographs a year in Switzerland and had just started making sculpture in Italy. Therefore, something had to suffer and that was my painting time. I lost a sale to Cher because one of my agents couldn’t explain the difference between a stone lithograph and the oil painting of ‘Rainbow Sphinx’. Dan Brown bought ‘The Three Graces’ and later used it in a book. But the highlight was when I made my first giclee print on paper to help raise funds for the Tippi Hedren big cat refuge center in California. The success of ‘The Last Lion’ edition gave us the chance to help those who protect the big cats. Welcome to the decade of 1995!
